Entertain guests with fun-filled Christmas games

Three fun Christmas games to entertain guests this festive season.

The festive season gives many of us the perfect excuse to invite friends and family, from near and far, over for a meal or festive visit.

Here are three games to keep guests entertained during their visits.

1. Ready or Shot – photo game:

This game is a great way to get interesting photos of the dinner party guests.

You will need a camera with a timer flash on it.

Set the timer for whatever time you like – this is when the game begins.

Pass the camera to the person to your left and they will hold it out like they are taking a selfie. They only do this briefly before passing the camera to the next person (to the left).

The camera will eventually snap a photo and the timer will begin again.

Continue to pass the camera around as the party is going and let the camera collect loads of fun photos that you can review together later for a great laugh.

2. Forbidden Lingo:

This game is simple but does require everyone to pay attention.

While having dinner and the conversations are going make it a rule that Christmas related words like Christmas, jingle, presents, Santa, holiday, merry, sleigh, snow, cookies, and eggnog, are forbidden.

If any Christmas Lingo is used during the party, anyone who hears it must put their thumb on the table.

The last person to put their thumb on the table is out and cannot join the conversation until someone else says one of the forbidden words, and they are not last to put their thumb done.

It becomes even funnier when people begin to lead conversations that prompt the forbidden words.

3. The Santa Hat Game:

Get everyone a Christmas hat and pin the name of a Christmas character to the top of each one.

Ask everyone to put on a hat without peaking at the name.

Each person then takes turns asking questions to try to guess their identity.

The winner is the first person to guess who he or she is.

What other games do you play with your loved ones over the festive season?
