Loadshedding is taking place, check your schedule
As a result of a shortage of capacity due to a number of generating units still being out of service due to breakdowns, Eskom implemented stage two rotational loadshedding from 9am last Wednesday.
Twenty-one cars damaged as plastic industry strike escalates
About 30 protesters alleged to be taking part in the plastic industry strike caused a fire which damaged 21 vehicles at a plastic recycling company in Wadeville, last Monday. According to Const Daphney Phooko, communications officer for the Elsburg SAPS, witnesses said the protesters assaulted the security officer who was on duty at noon and made their way onto the premises.
Know the different stages of loadshedding
The metro explained how the loadshedding stages work and how the metro reacts in each stage. The metro only sheds in areas that are supplied by the municipality. Areas supplied by Eskom are controlled by Eskom, and residents are encouraged to view Eskom’s loadshedding schedule for all three stages.
Police appeal to parents to keep their children safe
The Primrose police are appealing to parents to keep a close eye on their children. The warning comes after police have noted an increase in the number of rape and statutory rape cases being reported, especially in the informal settlements and Primrose East.

The warm weather means snakes will now be up and about after a long period of hibernation, hungry and in search of food. From mid-August until late May it is snake season.
