Children beam at cheery Christmas party

Team Hope SA once again brought hope, smiles and Christmas cheer to children.

Team Hope SA and a team of eager volunteers dressed in red T-shirts, lit up the Ithembelihle Lsen School premises with a world of colour and added smiles to many faces last Saturday.

The non-profit organisation (NPO) hosted a number of homes they support at their seventh annual Christmas party.

Volunteers and McDonald’s (Boksburg) representatives also united in making the Christmas party one to remember.

Team Hope SA once again brought hope and cheers to lift children’s spirits this festive season.

Face painting, dancing, singing and an interesting animal talk and demonstration featuring snakes given by staff from Wild and Earthy were among items on the entertainment agenda of the day.

When a batch of balloons which had been suspended in the ceiling of the tent was released, it was a special moment as children all raised their hands in an effort to try and catch them.

That moment challenged an intriguing magic show which took place earlier as the highlight of the day.

Talented children put on a friendly dance-off at Team Hope’s Christmas party.

Children from Ithembelihle Lsen School, Rekopane Inclusive Development Centre, Parker Harriers and Siyathandwa Stimulation Centre for the Disabled were equally involved in the festivities.

McDonald’s revealed a tasty surprise for Rekopane Inclusive Development Centre who celebrated 10 years in existence and Siyathandwa Stimulation Centre for the Disabled which had just turned three.

The centres received large cakes from the fast food restaurant and all guests joined in wishing them a happy birthday by harmonising the classic Happy Birthday song.

In her red T-shirt volunteering her time for a good cause, Kadisha Rambally helped put smiles on other children’s faces last Saturday at Team Hope SA’s Christmas party.

Adding a comedic element to the day, caregivers were called to take centre stage for a dance-off, which the children found hilarious.

To make it a real Christmas party, Santa also popped in, boasting gifts for the children.

Team Hope SA thanked Parker, Imperial, McDonald’s, Drew Office Supplies, Thristel Hiring Services, South Continental, Brand Image and all volunteers for their donations and sharing their time with the children.
