#ALERT – Stage two loadshedding implemented

The power utility warns of loadshedding between 9am and 10pm today.

Eskom has announced through the company’s Twitter account (@Eskom_SA) that stage two loadshedding will be implemented.

Loadshedding is expected to last from 9am this morning to 10pm this evening.

This will mark the second day of loadshedding after stage one was implemented yesterday after the generation and distribution of electricity across Eskom’s network was once again constrained due to unplanned maintenance needing to be carried out at one of the company’s plants.

During this maintenance, which was carried out overnight, additional units went offline adding to the constraint of the power grid.

Customers are reminded to treat all electrical points as live during loadshedding.

Eskom appeals to residents and businesses to use electricity sparingly during this period.

Please switch off geysers, as well as all non-essential lighting and electricity appliances to assist in reducing demand.

Customers are advised to check their loadshedding schedules on the Eskom website or on their municipal website (www.ekurhuleni.org.za), and to plan on the assumption that loadshedding will take place.
