Couple arrested after being found in possession of R50k worth of drugs and cash

Katlehong North police arrested 15 suspects over the weekend including two for dealing in and possession of drugs.

Officers from the Katlehong North Police Station continued their efforts to curb crime in their area.

During several operations last weekend, 15 suspects were arrested.

During one of these operations officers from the Ekurhuleni West Cluster SAPS and Provincial Crime Intelligence arrested a man and woman in Tshongweni Section in Katlehong.

The pair were charged with dealing in and possession of drugs after over R50 000 worth of drugs was allegedly found in their possession.

During the search, officers found 15 full-moon Mandrax tablets, 99 half-moon Mandrax tablets, 32 ziplock packets containing 89.6 grams of Kat, 74 ziplock packets containing 74 grams of Kat and R10 258 in cash.

Both suspects were detained at the Katlehong North Police Station pending their appearance in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court.

Katlehong North SAPS station commander Col Reginah Rampota congratulated the team following the arrest.

“We hope this arrest will sensitise the community and promote them to report more criminal activities,” Rampota said.
