Murderous suspect nabbed in Makause

Det Col Mark Rikhotso's persistence sees murder suspect behind bars.

A 32-year-old man was recently arrested for murder in Makause informal settlement.

The arrest was made possible through the help of a police informant who disclosed valuable information about the whereabouts of the suspect to Det Col Mark Rikhotso of the Germiston SAPS.

“The suspect was first linked to a number of other cases when fingerprinting was administered,” said Const Maxwell Mabunda, communications officer for the Germiston police.

“Through the hard work displayed by Rikhotso, the suspect was convicted on various charges including a 15-year sentence for murder.

“He received another 15-year sentence for possession of an unlicensed firearm and he will spend an additional four years in prison for housebreaking.”
