A woman from the Makause informal settlement recently opened a case of rape against her ex-boyfriend at the Primrose Police Station.
She alleged that her 37-year-old ex-boyfriend overpowered her while she was sleeping and had sex with her, without her permission.
“The victim further claimed that the accused kept her locked in the shack until the next morning,” said communications officer for the Primrose police, Sgt Styles Maome.

Using the description given by the victim, police traced and arrested the suspect.
He was charged with rape and has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court, where his case was postponed for a bail application.
