Man found with suspected stolen property

Primrose police arrested a 30-year-old man for possession of suspected stolen property.

While on patrol in Primrose Sector One, on Friday morning, officers from the Primrose Police Station noticed a suspicious vehicle.

“The green Opel Corsa was spotted at the entrance to the Marathon informal settlement,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“Police stopped the vehicle and asked the driver to exit it so that he and the vehicle could be searched.”

During the search officers found nine plasma TVs, a DVD player, a speaker and other audio and entertainment equipment.

“Officers also discovered house break-in implements,” said Maome.

The man was unable to explain where he had obtained the goods and was arrested for possession of suspected stolen property.

“The vehicle was confiscated for allegedly being used in the commission of crime,” said Maome.

This Opel Corsa was confiscated and brought to the Primrose Police Station for allegedly being used in the commission of crime.

The accused will be held at the Primrose Police Station pending his appearance in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court.
