Exchange your white SASSA card for a gold one urgently

If you have not exchanged your white SASSA card for a gold one by the end of the year, you will not receive your grant in January.

Social grant cardholders, including senior citizens, are urged to exchange their white SASSA social grant cards for the new SASSA gold card urgently.

Clr Wendy Morgan, the Ward 36 councillor, said the white card will not work anymore from the end of December.

“If cardholders do not exchange their cards they will not receive their grants in January 2019,” she said.

SASSA will be hosting a card exchange day to afford all grant beneficiaries who have not yet done the card exchange to do so.

The event will take place on November 23, from 8.30am to 3pm, at Rest-a-While Service Centre for the Elderly, situated on the corner of Shamrock Road and Churchill Avenue, Primrose.

You must bring along your identity document, as well as your old SASSA card.

“All cardholders from Germiston, Edenvale, Bedfordview, Boksburg and any other areas are welcome to come,” said Wendy.

SASSA grant recipients who are receiving their grants through their bank accounts do not have to get the new SASSA card.
