SAPS embarks on re-enlistment process

The SAPS is calling on former police officers to reapply to the force.

The South African Police Service (SAPS) has commenced with the process of re-enlisting former police officers.

The service hereby welcomes applications from former members with the ranks of constable, sergeant and warrant officer.

Only those who meet the prescribed criteria, as stipulated on the SAPS website, will be considered.

Successful candidates will also only be re-enlisted in the ranks they previously held in the SAPS and be remunerated on the minimum salary notch applicable to their relevant rank.

The focus of the re-enlistment process aims to improve capacity in different SAPS environments, focusing on the capacitation of the following prioritised environments in all provinces and operational divisions, as well as the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation.

• Public Order Policing (POP).

• Tactical Response Teams (TRT).

• K9 Unit.

• Flying Squad.

• Family, Child and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS).

• Stock Theft Units.

• Vehicle Crime Investigation Unit (VCIU).

• Organised Crime Investigations: Crime Detection (OCI:CD

• Commercial Crime Investigations: Crime Detection (CCI:CD).

• Police Stations.

The re-enlistment process is a force multiplier and does not replace or affect the normal recruitment and training process known as the Basic Police Learning Development Training (BPLDP).

The closing date for applications is November 9 and no late applications will be considered.
