A new Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) was announced last Wednesday by the executive mayor of the metro, Clr Mzwandile Masina. This programme is expected to see 300 youth enter a three-year apprenticeship which is intended to create sustainable artisan jobs.

N3 highway accident at Van Buuren Road causes traffic chaos

A fatal accident at 5.35am, last Friday morning, caused traffic chaos for commuters. The collision occurred on the N3 highway southbound at Van Buuren Road, in Bedfordview.

Robbers get away with goods, cash estimated at R50 000 during business robbery

Cash Crusaders at Lambton Court was the latest shop to encounter a business robbery by suspects under the guise of regular customers. The store, which is divided into two parts, the retail shop and the buy shop, was wrapping up business for the day when it was robbed. According to a shop employee, who wished to remain anonymous, seven men entered the store recently in the early evening.
