Factory worker knocked down and crushed by forklift in Elandsfontein

Netcare 911 responded to an incident at a factory.

Netcare 911 paramedics responded to reports of an industrial incident in Elandsfontein at 7.36am on Saturday.

“Reports from the scene indicated that a 25-year-old factory worker had been knocked down and crushed by a forklift,” said Shawn Herbst, media liaison officer for Netcare Limited, Netcare 911.

“The patient had sustained serious injuries to his upper torso and required advanced life support intervention.”

Due to the nature of the injury the Netcare 911 Air Ambulance was called to rapidly transport the man to hospital.
