Police investigate Likole Section house robbery

Katlehong police are investigating a house robbery which took place at midnight in Likole Section last Friday.

Officers from the Katlehong Police Station were called to the scene of a house robbery, at midnight, last Friday.

It is alleged two armed men forced the door of a Likole Section home open.

“Once inside they threatened the 32-year-old occupant of the house with a firearm and tied him up, binding his arms and legs,” explained Capt Mega Ndobe, Katlehong corporate communication official.

The suspects reportedly made off with a plasma TV, a cellphone and R300 in cash.

“They fled the scene on foot.

“No one was injured during the robbery and no shots were fired,” said Ndobe.

A case of house robbery was opened by the Katlehong police, no arrests have been made to date.

Katlehong SAPS’ acting station commander Col Loyiso Dutywa appealed to community members to always call the police whenever they need assistance.

“The police are always on the streets patrolling with the aim of making Katlehong a safe place and to save lives and protect properties,” Dutywa said.
