Couple’s argument ends in fatal stabbing

Katlehong police arrested a 27-year-old man in connection with a Thokoza murder.

A 27-year-old man from Mavimbela Section in Katlehong was arrested by Katlehong police, last Monday, in connection with his 38-year-old girlfriend’s murder.

“It is alleged that the suspect had an argument with his girlfriend at a tavern in Thokoza.

“Their argument turned physical and the accused allegedly took out a knife and stabbed the woman in the upper body,” said Capt Mega Ndobe, Katlehong corporate communications official.

She was taken to hospital by ambulance where she later died.

A murder case was opened at the Katlehong Police Station. Following a tip-off from the community, the man was arrested.

“The suspect may be handed over to the Thokoza police as the crime occurred in their precinct,” said Ndobe.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon.
