Woman accuses helper of maliciously damaging TV

Primrose police arrest woman on a charge of malicious damage to property.

An 18-year-old woman was recently arrested by the Primrose police for malicious damage to property.

The arrest was made in Rietfontein Road, in Primrose, when the complainant called officers to the scene.

“She explained that she had been in her bedroom when she began coughing terribly.

“She went to the lounge to try to find the source of the irritation and discovered her TV that had been on was switched off,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

She asked her domestic worker, who she found with a tin of furniture spray, what happened.

“The woman allegedly told her that she had sprayed the TV with the furniture polish which caused it to stop working.

“When asked why the accused allegedly said she did it because she was cross with the complainant,” said Maome.

Without delay, the suspect reportedly began to pack her belongings with the intention to leave.

“The complainant did not allow her to leave and called the police,” said Maome.
