The warm weather means snakes will now be up and about after a long period of hibernation, hungry and in search of food. From mid-August until late May it is snake season. More than 80 per cent of all snakebites in South Africa occur between January and April and in the early evening with people accidentally stepping on snakes.

ALERT: Teenager goes missing in Primrose, have you seen her?

Police and family members are searching for Casandra Casey-Lee de Waal who went missing in Primrose on August 22. The 16-year-old left her home to go and visit a friend but never reached her destination.

Environmental health practitioners take food off Ekurhuleni spaza shop shelves

Ekurhuleni environmental health practitioners have taken items which pose a health hazard, such as meat that did not indicate the sell-by date, expired and rotten food, and unlabelled frozen mixed veggies, off the shelves during the recent spaza shop inspections across the metro.

Huge traffic delays after truck gets lodged under bridge on R24 towards Gillooly’s Interchange

A truck got lodged underneath a bridge on the R24 heading towards the Gillooly’s Interchange last Monday evening which caused a massive evening traffic backup on the highway.
