Celebrate spring with the Lambton Klip Sector Four CPF

The community is encouraged to come and enjoy a great day out in the fresh air.

The successful inaugural Lambton Klip Sector Four CPF (LKCPF) Family Fun Day was held in Hout Park in September, last year.

The event will once again take place at the park (in First Street, Lambton) on September 1 and this year it will be bigger and better.

The entire Germiston community is invited to come along and enjoy a fun, family day out celebrating the onset of spring.

During the year exco members attend several meetings with various role players, and patrollers patrol the streets day and night to try and keep the Lambton Klip area safe, all on a voluntary basis.

This highlights the importance of the CPF structures and the role the community has to play in combating crime in the area.

So this Family Fun Day, just like last year, is not just about fun – it also aims to showcase the integral partnership between the LKCPF, SAPS, EMPD, and the residents/community of Sector Four and its surrounding communities.

“We believe a firm platform for growth will be laid for a community event which our residents can attend without fear,” said Pine Pienaar, vice-chairperson of LKCPF.

“Like we promised last year, we as the LKCPF hope to grow this event in the years to come.

“Let’s fight crime collectively and unite and enjoy one day of relaxation together as crime fighters.”

The day will boast festivities ranging from a selection of interesting stalls and delicious food to a 10km and 20km cycle race, as well as a not-to-be-forgotten children’s cycle race combined with a fun walk.

A very safe crèche facility, made possible by Heavenly Flowers, will also be available for the moms and dads who would like to partake in these races without worrying about their toddlers.

The Trolley Dash that was won last year by Afrikaanse Hoërskool Germiston will once again be on the menu and all schools are challenged to come and take part in this eventful item.

Another highlight from last year, The Dunk Tank, where volunteers will be dunked in an inflatable pool as the cricket ball thrown by participants finds its target, will once again create joy and laughter, so remember to bring along a towel.

Various singers will entertain guests throughout the day.

Another highlight of the event will be the Mr and Miss LKCPF competition.

Entry forms can be obtained from Heavenly Flowers by emailing to info@heavenlyflowers.co.za, so come on moms and dads, let the youngsters come and show off their talents.

“I encourage the various companies in the area as well as the community to come and support this initiative,” said Pine.

The LKCPF Family Fun Day starts at 8am and cycle race registration starts at 6am at the venue.

Alternatively, register for the cycle race on the LKCPF website www.lkcpf.co.za.

Vendors wanting to book a stall can email to lkcpfvendors@gmail.com, call 072 193 8496 or visit the website.

Safe parking will be available on the day.

“Come on, let’s make it a vibrant day by turning up in numbers and celebrating spring,” said Pine.
