Robberies on the rise in Wychwood – say police

Members of the Primrose police and Primrose SAPS Crime Prevention Youth Desk took to the streets of Wychwood to raise awareness about crime in the area.

According to reports from the Primrose police robberies in Wychwood are on the rise.

To address this worrying trend officers from the Primrose Police Station and members of the Primrose SAPS Crime Prevention Youth Desk took to the streets to warn the community and create awareness of the increase in crime.

“The community needs to stand up and help the police to fight crime,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

Primrose SAPS Crime Prevention Youth Desk member Asanda Jonase places a safety tip pamphlet in the mailbox of a Wychwood home during an awareness campaign in the area.

Approximately 400 safety tip flyers were distributed to the community through the awareness campaign.

“We hope that the safety tips will help the community in times of need,” said Maome.
