Busy week for Germiston SAPS

Germiston police share their arrest statistics.

According to the latest arrest statistics released by the Germiston Police Station, 84 suspects were arrested between August 6 and 13.

The accused were arrested for various offences, including:

Possession of dagga: 13

Driving under the influence of alcohol: 27

Assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm: 4

Interfering with police duties: 2

Theft: 9

Shoplifting: 2

Malicious damage to property: 1

Exceeding speed limit: 2

Common robbery: 4

Dealing in drugs: 3

Reckless and negligent driving: 1

Sexual assault: 1

Common assault: 4

Possession of drugs: 4

Use of vehicle without the owner’s permission: 2

House break-in: 2

Dealing in liquor without a licence: 1

Theft out of a motor vehicle: 1

Possession of suspected house break-in implements: 1

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
