Sharing love in the name of Madiba

Women on the Move entertain and spoil Buhle Park residents with donations and a soup kitchen.

Women on the Move spent 67 minutes spreading love in Buhle Park last Saturday.

The charity, established in 2015, aimed at supporting the needy in South Africa’s poverty-stricken neighbourhoods, celebrated Nelson Mandela’s legacy by lifting the spirits of residents with valuable donations.

In collaboration with the Vosloo Toy Club, Muse Trading and Grace M, the charity donated clothes, shoes, toys and staple foods to the crowd which had formed around them.

“I used to live in this area.

“Seeing community members struggle to make ends meet inspired me to lend a helping hand.

“Together with the other women we decided to come together and tackle poverty across the country by donating the little that we can afford.

“We are constantly looking for ways to better the lives of our fellow South Africans,” said Grace Mofokeng of Women on the Move.

Residents were entertained with soulful jams and the men and women ran a soup kitchen to round off their 67 minutes with the young and old living in Buhle Park.
