“This is the day that the Lord has made.

“It’s really an honour to have people dedicate their time and money to help make our school a better place.

“We are appreciative of our visitors and their efforts.

“Mandela would be proud,” said Zanele Hlatshwayo, HOD of the intersen phase at Ekurhuleni Primary School.

The company also donated much-needed sanitary pads to the Grade Six and Grade Seven girls.

“Many of us know the struggle of not affording sanitary pads. It stunts your confidence.

“If we can help build the confidence of all these young girls by giving them the little we can afford, that’s an achievement we’re happy to live with this Mandela Day,” said Selina Mofokeng, service assistant at Rentokil Initial.
