Needy communities given soul food by local motorcycle club

Pneuma MCC is making a difference in needy communities.

Pneuma MCC is not your usual motorcycle club, it is also an NPO which strives to help the people around it as best it can.

“All our members carry the needs of the community on their sleeves and not just in their hearts,” said Toinette Grace, on behalf of the club.

The club is based at the Germiston City Sports Club and so far has conducted charity outreach projects in Elsburg, Tedstoneville, Reiger Park, South Hills, Alberton and Ramaphosa.

“We, as Pneuma, have started a project called Soul Food where each month we go to needy areas and spend a day on the streets helping to feed the community.

“We do not only feed their nutritional needs but also their emotional and spiritual needs with soul food,” said Toinette.

She added that they give support and guidance to community members with regard to obstacles they face in their daily lives.

The club wants to extend its outreach programme to other needy communities, however, as this project is mainly funded by members themselves, they are restricted in what they can provide to people.

“By the grace of God, each occasion was met with sufficient food and Bibles to distribute.

“Our dream is to expand this project and do it on a more regular basis and within more communities,” said Toinette.

To make this a reality the club is appealing to the community and local businesses for support.

“We are in dire need of food and helping hands,” said Toinette.

If you would like to contribute to the project by donating food items or offering your services to help on a Soul Food day contact Amanda Knoester, the club’s first lady, by emailing her at info@pneumamcc.org.za or calling her on 082 501 7556 or the club’s second lady Juliet Hector by emailing her at juliethector@gmail.com or calling her on 084 501 3564.
