Help Care Bear Gauteng make a difference

Care Bear Gauteng Safe House for Abandoned and Abused Babies and Toddlers is appealing to the community for help, so that the organisation can help more children in need.

Care Bear Gauteng Safe House for Abandoned and Abused Babies and Toddlers, in Elsburg, offers a place of safety to abused, orphaned and neglected children in Germiston.

The home, situated at 22 Joubert Street, was established in 2016 and is managed by Zenobia Venter.

“The home currently accommodates 13 children at a time, ranging from newborn to five-year-olds.

“Care Bear Gauteng’s main focus is to nurture and protect abandoned children who have been let go by their parents for many different reasons and help them get adopted so that they may have a better life,” said Zenobia.

“We want the children to rightfully flourish in our communities and one day make a meaningful contribution to society.”

Though the home has credited the community with helping them overcome many things in the past, they are appealing to residents and local businesses to open their hearts and help the organisation raise the funds needed to purchase a bigger property, as well as additional funds to help improve their current infrastructure and cover their monthly overhead costs.

“The bigger property would allow us to accommodate more children in need, for a longer time.

“Improving our infrastructure will improve the quality of life of the children in our care,” said Zenobia.
