The EMPD Public Order Policing Task Team recovered a Toyota Etios sedan in Phumula, in Germiston, which was stolen in Benoni earlier the same day, last Friday, at about 4pm.
The stolen Etios was recovered in Lithemba Street.
It was found abandoned in a passageway between two houses with its doors unlocked and the dashboard badly damaged.
The metro police located the stolen vehicle through the tracking coordinates provided by the vehicle tracking company.
After the formalities were concluded on the scene, the recovered vehicle was taken to the SAPS Van Ryn Deep pound in Benoni for further investigation and safekeeping.
