There is a power outage affecting numerous Germiston suburbs.
Ward 36 councillor Wendy Morgan told the GCN that the power is out in the following areas:
• Meadowbrook
• Wilbart
• Solheim
• Sunnyridge
• Symhurst
• Fishers’ Hill
• Gerdview
• Homestead
• Rustivia
• Dawnview
• Parts of Primrose
Morgan said that apparently a contractor has damaged a cable in the area and she is awaiting a time for restoration.
The metro told the GCN that a cable was acidentally damaged during road widening construction that is taking place in Sunnyridge.
A team is on site assessing the severity of the damage before power supply restoration work can commence.
An update will be given as soon as it becomes available.
