While on a routine patrol in the Elsburg policing precinct, EMPD officers noticed two suspicious-looking men standing next to a vehicle at a supermarket in Egret Street.
According to Const Daphney Phooko, communications officer for the Elsburg SAPS, based on their observations the EMPD officers approached the two men who informed the officers that they were selling the car.
The EMPD officers searched the motor vehicle only to find that it was suspected to be stolen.
“The two men, aged between 39 and 42 years old, were arrested on a charge of possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle and detained at the Elsburg Police Station.
“They are due to appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon,” said Phooko.
