Help by donating winter woollies

With winter rearing its head Epworth Children’s Village is in need of donations.

Winter has arrived in the city.

For some, winter means new winter woollies, warm fleece blankets and keeping cosy next to the fire with a cup of hot chocolate.

For the 74 children currently in residential care at Epworth Children’s Village, the reality is somewhat different.

Epworth Children’s Village is a residential care facility for children who have been abandoned, abused or neglected.

Epworth relies on the generous support of the community to ensure that these children are provided with the care and support that they are entitled to.

Epworth is appealing to the community to help its children stay warm this winter.

The home needs a variety of winter woollies.

These include:

• Winter pyjamas, slippers and dressing gowns.

• Jerseys.

• Tracksuits.

• Blankets.

• Dry food goods.

“Because our children are so special and need extra special care and love, we especially ask that you consider a gift of brand new pyjamas, slippers, dressing gowns, jerseys, tracksuits, socks, tights or blankets.

“This will mean the world to the children,” said Roberta Ingrato, public relations and human resources manager at the home.

The children at Epworth range in age from two to 18 years old.

If you would like more information on sizes etc contact Roberta on 011 827 5732 or email her at admin@epworthvillage.org.za.
