Man sustains injuries to jaw and forehead in attack in Delport

Primrose police recently arrested a 20-year-old woman after she allegedly attacked her ex-boyfriend.

A man was left seriously injured recently after he was allegedly savagely beaten by his 20-year-old ex-girlfriend.

The incident reportedly took place in the Delport informal settlement when the victim visited the accused to fetch a speaker he had lent to her.

“The victim told officers, when opening a case at the Primrose Police Station, that the suspect had refused to return the speaker and smashed it on the ground in front of him.

“She then, allegedly, tore his shirt off and began to hit him in the face with a bottle,” said communications officer for the Primrose police Sgt Styles Maome.

The man was left with a swollen jaw and a cut to the forehead following the attack.

Police, using the description given by the victim, were able to trace and arrest the woman.

She was charged with assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

She will be held at the Primrose Police Station pending her appearance in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court.
