Man nabbed for stolen property

Man apprehended by the Primrose police after being found with suspected stolen property.

The Primrose police recently arrested a 21-year-old Marathon informal settlement man for possession of suspected stolen property.

The arrest was made while officers were in the area following up on a complaint of assault.

“While at the scene of the complaint, police noticed a big truck battery.

“Suspicious they asked the suspect where he had obtained the battery from but he was unable to offer a clear explanation or provide proof of purchase for the battery,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

The man was arrested and charged with possession of suspected stolen property.

He has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court where his case was postponed for plea and trial.
