Parkhill Gardens’ Jordan Hughes (16) was recently selected as part of the Gauteng Lifesaving High-Performance Squad and will head to the South African National Lifesaving Championships in Port Elizabeth, in April. Her photo was the most liked on Instagram.

Neighbours allegedly hear a scream as woman is killed

The Primrose police recently arrested a 35-year-old man in connection with the murder of his girlfriend. Police were called to the Makause informal settlement, on March 31, where they found the deceased with three stab wounds. Paramedics were summoned to the scene where they declared the victim dead.

HOD suspended pending R50-million investigation

Following a special council meeting, the ANC caucus has welcomed the decision on the process of testing the allegations of financial misconduct against Clr Lusanda Madikizela. The allegations against the head of department for transport planning and provision are to be subjected and tested through an independent disciplinary process and in line with the disciplinary regulations for senior managers.

Be cautious with your money

As we approach another month-end and payday, police are encouraging residents to be more money wise. If you need to pay accounts, consider lower risk options, instead of withdrawing large sums of cash.
