Do you want to serve on the Ward 39 committee?

A number of positions are available on the Ward 39 committee.  

Alta de Beer, the Ward 39 councillor, invites all organised formations and interested groups and sectors to nominate and register a candidate to fill various positions on the Ward 39 committee.

The following sectors are currently vacant:

• Environmental development

• Health and social development

• Economic development and city planning.

The elections will take place on May 8 at 6pm at the Dinwiddie Hall in Elton Street, Dinwiddie.

Nominations close on May 4 at 4.30pm.

Nomination forms are available from the Germiston Customer Care Centre situated at 88 President Street, Germiston CBD or via email by emailing to dinah.dinahlene@ekurhuleni.gov.za

To be elected as a member of the ward committee you must be 18 years or older; a South African citizen; be on the voter’s roll in Ekurhuleni.

A non-resident of the ward but who is registered on the voter’s roll of Ekurhuleni, may be nominated by a sector, should that person be able to demonstrate in writing that he or she has an interest in that ward and must not owe council, or be in arrears with rates and taxes, but be willing to make the necessary arrangements according to metro credit control policy.

You can vote in the election if you are 18 years or older; are a resident in the ward and in possession of a South African identity document.
