Children shine in Miss and Mister Easter competition

Elssies Hope, Love and Daycare Centre continued their fund-raising efforts with a special Miss and Mister Easter competition.

The Hervormde Kerk in Elsburg was filled with smiles and laughter as Elssies Hope, Love and Daycare Centre hosted a special Miss and Mister Easter competition, recently.

The competition was another fun way that the school, with the help of Amanda van Straaten, the events co-ordinator for AK Events, held to raise some much-needed funds.

The event’s prizes were sponsored by Helloman Properties in Elsburg, and ATT Auto and Truck Tyres in Wadeville.

Entrants could either enter the two- to four-year-old or the five- to six-year-old categories and were asked to model two outfits during the competition.

Principal Maria Barnard previously told the GCN that the school is eager to shake off the past and, with the new committee, start from scratch and move forward.

The school has 46 children enrolled, between the ages of six months and six years, many from disadvantaged backgrounds, and also offers after-school care and activities with transport services available from surrounding schools.
