Successful Easter Egg Hunt by Germiston SPCA

The SPCA hosted an Easter Egg Hunt to raise much-needed funds.

In light of the Easter festivities, the Germiston SPCA organised a special Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, for a day filled with community interaction and efforts to raise much-needed funds.

The hunt was well supported and although the rainfall had imperfect timing, it was not enough to keep the children and their parents from flocking in.

“We want the community to know that the SPCA is open to them and we need involvement from them as we wouldn’t be able to run this place without them,” said Lesley Ritky, one of the SPCA committee members.

Through their outreach programme, five girls from Assumption Convent School – Nina Pantovic, Zoe Jack, Angeline Radford, Emily Gers and Yakira Tshipamba – joined the SPCA in ensuring that participants of the hunt understood the rules and had a guide to help with the hunt as well as involvement from Pitter Patter Academy.

The SPCA has revealed more plans to host fund-raising events and activities involving the community this year.

“We want to hold an art competition and grow our media centre, more will soon be revealed,” said Lesley.
