Police address crime in Makause

Officers and management from the Primrose Police Station, together with a number of other stakeholders, visited the Makause informal settlement recently.

During a recent visit to the Makause informal settlement in Primrose, management from the Primrose Police Station encouraged residents to help fight crime in the area.

Crime in the informal settlement remains one of the police’s top priorities.

The Primrose SAPS’ acting station commander, Lt Col Mbazima Maswanganyi, requested that community members came forward with information about crime and criminal activities within the informal settlement.

“We know it is difficult but we also know that you know who the criminals are and we, therefore, need your help in identifying them,” she said.

“It is our job to fight crime but we cannot do it alone, we need everyone to do their part.”

During the visit, Ward 21 councillor Frans Ngomane further encouraged the community to work hand-in-hand with police.

“The station will continue to hold similar imbizos in an effort to interact and educate the community,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
