Take note of the new traffic light on AG De Witt Drive

Ward 36 councillor is pleased about traffic light at busy Solheim intersection.

A new traffic light has been installed at the intersection of Main Road and AG De Witt Drive in Solheim.

“There have been many requests from residents to do something about this intersection and after a meeting with the roads department in 2017, it was decided to make these changes,” said Ward 36 councillor Wendy Morgan.

Morgan is advising residents to be aware of a number of changes which have been made at the intersection, as well as the fact that there is now a traffic light there.

“Residents need to be aware as there is going to be a change to the traffic flow on the road,” Morgan said.

“There have been a number of accidents on these roads and travelling up the hill to Kloof Road over the years and it is hoped that this robot will help prevent more accidents.”
