Tip-off leads to dagga bust

Tip-off from community leads to the arrest of 35-year-old man.

After receiving a tip-off from the community last Thursday, officers from the Germiston Police Station raced to a local informal settlement.

“We were alerted to the fact that a 35-year-old man was selling dagga from his shack,” said Capt George Raphulu, head of communications for the Germiston SAPS.

When police arrived at the address they found the man packing dagga into small packets.

“They grabbed the man and searched his premises, during which they found R5 000 worth of dagga,” said Raphulu.

The man was arrested and held at the Germiston Police Station pending his appearance in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court.
