Primrose detective gets her man

Trevor Grant (50) was sentenced to 18 years in prison for a 2014 murder.

A detective at the Primrose Police Station, Const Noxolo Ngqeleni, was recently commended for her hard work and dedication in the investigation of a 2014 Petunia Street murder case.

Her investigation aided in the conviction of 50-year-old Trevor Grant, who was found guilty of the crime and sentenced in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court.

Grant was sentenced to 18 years’ direct imprisonment.

Primrose SAPS station commander Col Albertina Vesi thanked Ngqeleni for her hard work and dedication.

She encouraged other detectives to learn from her example, and believes that successes such as these will send a stern warning to criminals.

“Criminals must learn that they cannot run away from the hands of the law,” Vesi said. “If you commit a crime the police will hunt you until you are brought to book.”
