Low water pressure causes high tempers in Elsburg

Residents of Elsburg Extension One frustrated over low water pressure for over a month.

Residents of Elsburg Extension One experienced low water pressure for over a month in their area and received no explanation from the metro as to what the issue was and what had caused it.

“We contacted the metro’s service centre and were told that they were aware of the problem and were working on it.

“However, the problem itself was not revealed,” said Cheryl Smith, a concerned resident of Elsburg.

The GCN contacted the metro for comment, and according to Themba Gadebe, spokesperson for the metro, the water supply interruption was due to a burst pipe near the stream between the Ekurhuleni Waste Department and the Delville industrial area.

“The pipe was repaired on Wednesday (February 28),” he added.
