Police target criminals in Katlehong

Katlehong police arrest 15 suspects in daily stop-and-search operation.

Fifteen suspects were arrested for various offences by the Katlehong police, last Tuesday, during a daily stop-and-search operation.

The operation was held by officers from the Katlehong Crime Prevention Unit, with the help of detectives from the Katlehong Police Station.

Charges included:

Warrant of arrest: 2

House break-in and theft: 1

Fraud: 1

Robbery: 1

Assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm: 7

Possession of dagga: 3

Acting Katlehong SAPS station commander Col Mthandeki Mthembu thanked officers for their efforts and commended them on a job well done.

“Detectives working with officers from the Crime Prevention Unit shows an improvement in the support between units.

“With this, we believe no one will divide us in our fight against crime,” he said.

The suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
