Working swiftly, last Monday, the EMPD Public Order Policing Unit members tracked down a vehicle a few hours after it had been hijacked.
The vehicle, an Isuzu LDV, was hijacked in the Khuluma section of Katlehong at noon and recovered in the same section of Katlehong at 3.35pm.
The Isuzu was recovered through the vehicle’s tracking co-ordinates.
“It was found on Hlahatsi Street parked with its doors unlocked.
“The vehicle had no visible damage,” said Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago, spokesperson for the EMPD.
After the SAPS had completed the formalities on the recovered vehicle it was towed to the SAPS Van Ryn Deep pound in Benoni for safe-keeping.
