Man allegedly takes woman’s underwear after rape

A man was arrested by the Primrose police on a charge of rape.

While on her way home from a party, last Saturday, a woman was allegedly raped by her 27-year-old ex-boyfriend in an open field along Stanley Road.

“The complainant alleged that she met her ex-boyfriend on her way home who asked her about her current boyfriend.

“When she refused to answer he changed the subject and asked her to walk with him to a local garage to buy airtime,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

While they were walking he allegedly pulled her into the field where he forced himself on her.

“The victim told police that when he finished he took her underwear and refused to give it back,” said Maome.

Police swiftly arrested the suspect and he was detained at the Primrose Police Station.

He appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court, where his case was postponed for plea and trial.
