Come shave or spray for Cansa this Saturday

Make your contribution towards helping cancer patients at Carnival City.

Carnival City has, as with previous years, pledged to support the 15th annual Cansa Shavathon taking place at the casino entrance this Saturday.

Anyone who wishes to support this fun, yet meaningful fund-raiser can visit the Cansa station at the casino entrance to have their hair cut, shaved off or sprayed or you can simply donate money.

One of the most-widely supported charity events in South Africa, this annual campaign was started in order to provide a place for people to go and show solidarity with others affected by cancer and help generate funds in doing so.

“We really encourage our community and visitors to Carnival City to come down and be part of this and contribute toward making this worthy cause a successful one once again,” said Michelle Smith, the marketing manager for Carnival City.

The friendly volunteers from Cansa will be standing ready and willing to change your look with a shaver, or simply to spray some funky, colourful designs onto your hair with easily washable paint, between 9am and 4pm.

Sick of those long locks?

Cansa would be thrilled to chop off your ponytail (of 25cm or longer) and use your hair to make wigs for cancer patients who have lost their hair due to various treatment methods.

Support Cansa by shaving or spraying your hair

This year, donors of ponytails will receive a free badge of honour from Cansa.

For just R50 per adult or R25 per child under the age of 12, you can make your contribution to Cansa which relies solely on the goodwill of individuals, government and corporate partners to support projects such as the Shavathon to care for patients with cancer.

Proceeds will go towards funding the care and support programmes that Cansa offers, mainly rendered at Cansa Care Centres which deliver care and support programmes to those who are suffering from the disease.

Bring your friends and family to the casino entrance this Saturday to make your contribution to a very worthy cause, having fun whilst doing so.
