Remax thrilled with water collection results

Remax All Stars, in conjunction with Relyant Express Services, recently sent their first load of water to drought stricken Cape Town.

Local company Remax All Stars, in conjunction with Relyant Express Services, recently began to collect water for the people of Cape Town as the clock continues to tick down to Day Zero, where the city’s taps will run dry.

Local company Remax All Stars, in conjunction with Relyant Express Services, were able to collect 6 000 litres of water for the Cape in just two weeks.

The Western Cape is currently in the grips of its worst drought in over 100 years, and already, due to the severity of the water crisis, level 6B water restrictions were put into effect on February 1.

The restrictions mean residents are only be permitted to use a minimal 50 litres of water per person, per day.

The companies sent the first load of water to Cape Town last Friday.

“In just two weeks we have collected more than 6 000 litres of water,” said sales and marketing associate Nadia Aucamp.

“A special thank you goes to the learners at Elsburg Primary School and Sunny Ridge Primary School who together brought in a 1 000 litres of water.”

Donations of water can still be dropped off at the Remax All Stars offices.

“We will still be collecting water until the water restrictions have been lifted in the Cape,” said Aucamp.

Water can be dropped at:

• The Alberton offices located at 81 Michelle Avenue, Randhart.

• The Germiston offices located at 126 Webber Road, Lambton.

The community is, however, advised to not donate tap water but rather store bought bottled water.
