A call to formalise fitness and aerobics clubs

The metro seeks to formalise community fitness and aerobics clubs.

Three years ago, the Fit For Free Aerobics Programme was launched and following the success of the programme the metro now seeks to formalise fitness and aerobics clubs to belong under one formal structure.

“The formal structure is envisaged to provide support and guidance on clubs’ operations and activities.

“This will result in a healthier and active community.

“We believe it will go a long way in addressing lifestyle-related illnesses in our community,” said Themba Gadebe, spokesperson of the metro.

The engagement session will be open to all active community aerobics clubs.

Clubs interested in attending must register with Mbali Gumbi no later than February 12 on 011 999 3219 or email Mbali.Gumbi@ekurhuleni.gov.za.

The stakeholder engagement session will be held on February 17 from 8am at the Boksburg Council Chamber.
