Man nabbed for hijacking

Man, arrested by Germiston SAPS, linked to second hijacking case.

A 29-year-old man was recently arrested by the Germiston police.

The arrest was made during a stop-and-search operation held on Webber Road.

“During the operation, officers stopped the driver of a white Volkswagen Citi Golf,” said Capt George Raphulu, head of communications for the Germiston police.

While running the vehicle’s information, officers discovered it had reportedly been hijacked in Boksburg.

The man was arrested and charged with hijacking.

“While the suspect was being processed it was discovered that he is wanted in connection with another hijacking case too,” said Raphulu.

Germiston SAPS are investigating the matter further.
