Couple confess to murder

Primrose police recently arrested a man and a woman in connection with a Marathon informal settlement murder.

When returning home recently a Marathon informal settlement man found his neighbour with injuries to his upper body.

“He called an ambulance, which took the victim to the Bertha Gxowa Hospital,” explained communications officer for the Primrose police Sgt Styles Maome.

“The victim was declared dead when he reached the hospital.”

Primrose police launched an investigation into the death and traced a couple, aged 29 and 32 years old, respectively.

“While in police custody the accused confessed that they had committed the crime.

“They claimed that they had fought with the deceased, hitting him in the upper body with an unknown object, after he allegedly tried to rape the female suspect,” said Maome.

The pair were detained at the Primrose Police Station.

They will appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon.
