Local bikers lay down roots
The Laidback Bikers Motorcycle Club celebrates milestone anniversary in style.
This year marks the Laidback Bikers Motorcycle Club’s fifth anniversary.
The Primrose club was founded seven years ago by club president Mike Da Silva and his wife, club secretary Sue, but had its official launch in October 2012.
The Laidback Bikers pride themselves on being a club with a difference and enjoy taking part in various charity events and breakfast runs.
“When looking for a venue to host our anniversary celebrations we met with Tina Loots, the owner of Kick Off Sports Bar and Grill in Main Street in Witfield, to discuss utilising her facilities,” said Mike.
“During the course of the meeting we not only secured a venue for our function but also a venue for the Laidback Bikers MC’s official clubhouse.”
The official clubhouse launch and fifth anniversary celebrations took place at the bar last Saturday and included the unveiling of the club’s logo outside the bar.
“The evening was a great success and our members partied into the early hours of the morning,” Mike said.
