Men arrested for dagga possession

Primrose police nab nine suspects for dagga possession during recent operation.

Officers from the Primrose Police Station took to the informal settlements of Primrose on Wednesday for a stop-and-search operation.

During the operation police arrested nine suspects, aged between 23 and 54 years old, for possession of dagga.

“We are still dealing with the challenge of substance abuse in our precinct and we will carry on arresting all lawbreakers in our area.

“We believe that substance abuse is one of the main factors that can lead to domestic violence, murders, robberies and unnecessary assaults,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

The men will be held at the Primrose Police Station pending their appearance in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court.
