Residents beautify their wheelie bins

Competition helps make suburb a prettier place.

Residents in Primrose recently participated in a fun-filled ‘Decorate your Wheelie Bin’ competition.

The competition saw residents from all three Primrose sectors having a bit of fun by making their wheelie bins pretty.

“The competition made the painful process of the new wheelie bins more exciting,” said Ward 36 councillor Wendy Morgan.

“I thank all the residents who took part in trying to make a very frustrating time a bit of fun.

“Congratulations to the winners, and to the other participants: well done on making Primrose a prettier place.”

At the prize handover in Primrose’s ‘Decorate your Wheelie Bin’ competition: Ward 36 councillor Wendy Morgan, Sector One winner Chris Reed, Sector Three winner Leigh Pretorius, Gary Strydom (Sector Three resident), Des Barnett (sponsor of prizes), Andrew Boyley (sponsor of prizes) and Sector Two winner Nicola Modla.

Prizes were donated by members of the community, and it was a tough task for Janet Gernsten to choose the winner in each sector.

The winners were Chris Reed (Sector One), Nicola Modla (Sector Two) and Leigh Pretorius (Sector Three).
