Twenty suspects arrested during stop-and-search

Twenty nabbed in Katlehong police’s festive season stop-and-search operations.

The Katlehong police continued their festive season stop-and-searches last Tuesday.

During the daily operation held by members of the Katlehong Crime Prevention Unit, with the help of detectives from the Katlehong Police Station, 20 suspects were arrested.

The accused were arrested for a number of different offences.

Charges included:

• Possession of dagga: 8

• House break-in and theft: 3

• Possession of vehicle break-in implements: 2

• Theft: 2

• Possession of nyaope: 2

• Assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm: 1

• Common assault: 1

• Common robbery: 1

All of the suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
